Prolight + Sound Shanghai 2019 gears up with A3E Summit and IMSTA support

Prolight + Sound Shanghai 2019 (PLSS) will amaze AV professionals with more educational sessions, an impressive series of in-depth product demos and an expanded product range. Throughout the four exhibition days, the enhanced fringe events at PLSS will have something to offer for every audio engineer, musician and producer who wants to stay on top of the trends that are fuelling the market.

The major highlights for the international audio technology community will be the sessions of the A3E Summit @ Prolight + Sound Shanghai – making its debut in China – and the software demo plus tech master classes hosted by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA). Both will offer a deep-dive into the technological innovations that lift current AV productions to a higher level.

New: A3E Summit @ Prolight + Sound Shanghai (11 October)
A3E, the Advanced Audio + Applications Exchange, will mark its first appearance in China by hosting the A3E Summit @ Prolight + Sound Shanghai. A3E is the nexus point of innovation in audio, technology, computer science and manufacturing. The panel will be moderated by Doug DeAngelis, A3E conference chairman and co-founder, and is set to feature three key topics: audio making, producing and performing. Visitors will be able to join a panel of professionals who work in the recording, lighting and R&D of the sound hardware industry in an open discussion and take part in any debate that sparks up. The Future of Production: New Tools and Techniques for Content Creation
Creating engaging content requires an array of skills in production, recording, mixing and editing. This A3E session will explore the latest software and hardware technology, and cutting-edge creative techniques to create professional, quality content. Participants will be able to enhance their production skills and showcase their talent on popular streaming platforms worldwide. Panellists for this session will include:

Next-Generation Audio/Visual Experiences for Concert and Festival Production
Video game technology continues to raise the expectation of all entertainment for young consumers. In order to bring interactive experiences to the concert stage, artists and show designers will look at augmented reality, real-time 3D rendering, laser lighting and immersive audio to morph real world concert venues into scenes from the latest video games. Panellists will focus on incorporating the next generation of audio-visual technology and techniques for concert and festival production which includes:

Advanced Audio on Tour: The Latest Technology for FOH Mixing
Powerful server systems, hosting hundreds of plug-ins, multitrack recording, mobile apps and gigabit networking technology are a necessity for front of house engineers to accurately reproduce contemporary pop music on tour. In this session, specialists will explain the latest software and hardware to bring the most demanding concert productions to life. Panellists for this session will include:

IMSTA Audio Software Zone (10 – 13 October)
Returning to PLSS for its second time, IMSTA aims to promote the use of licensed audio software. Hosting a showcase area in Hall N1, IMSTA also places a strong focus on software-based audio technology. The zone includes a showcase of the latest audio software from over ten companies: Antares, Celemony, FabFilter, Krotos, Magix, Modartt, Native Instruments, Nugen Audio, Reveal Sound, Sonnox, Synchro Arts, U-he, and Xils-lab.

A series of tech master classes, run by manufacturers including Krotos and Native Instruments, will be held in the Recording & Production Workshop. The focus of these master classes will be on sharing knowledge of application-focused demos.
